Wood Smoke Mitigation Campaign – Assistance
AWSI may participate in efforts to provide guidance and advocate for compliance (enforcement) on wood smoke violations and appropriate rules and regulations to mitigate wood smoke air pollution.
AWSI may:
- Help guide residents as to observation, monitoring and reporting of illegal wood smoke emissions and wood burning activity
- Advocate for compliance on violations and for enhanced enforcement to enforcement agencies, government bodies and representatives
- Put forth ideas and recommendations for change to rules and regulations to enforcement agencies, government bodies and representatives.
Awsi encourages Representatives, the County, municipalities and individuals to take the initiative to provide guidance as to wood smoke issues, wood smoke basics and wood smoke monitoring and to advocate for and propose appropriate revisions to rules and regulations as to wood smoke related laws, wood smoke complaints and wood smoke mitigation.
